Wim Lots – ‘Silent Screens’ (expo)

Wim Lots has an active background in theater and sound but his main focus is based on drawing.
Back in 2005 he was in Gaza, taking part in a theatre project with local youth and 4 colleagues from Bxl. He was invited by Theatre Day Productions, a Jewish/Dutch/ Palestinian organization, operating in the occupied territories on a grassroots level. It was a shocking but warm and unforgettable experience, leaving quite a deep trace in his soul.

The drawings on view in the expo ‘Silent Screens’ are related to the horror of witnessing from a distance (day after day) the total destruction of Gaza and a very big part of his people – the destruction still going on right now, despite the so-called ceasefire.
The expo shows a selection from a large series of drawings Wim Lots has worked on from October 2024 until now.
